Apple CarPlay / Android Auto Retrofit for Volkswagen Touareg 7P series

Now that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is being offered for most of brand new vehicles throughout major manufacturers, Volkswagen is certainly leading in that area, providing those features on their most of vehicles.

Yet at the same time, their high end vehicles do not come with those as standard but more of built-in features, rather than phone driven apps type.

However We've encountered and met so many car owners showing disappointment with those decisions made by car industry, saying that if they've paid this amount of money for a car, It should have the feature.

Volkswagen Touareg is one of those vehicles that constantly mentioned from the Car owners, chasing info of having those in their car without much stress nor change.

Since Volkswagen Phaeton has never been sold in Australia and quite lots of countries around the world - Touareg has been taken over the 'flagship' position of the Volkswagen for last 15 years, yet still no sign of having those features either.

The RNS 850 audio headunit in any Touareg 7P series, is actually a well built audio that provides lots of features with HD display.

And us Naviplus, thought that by utilizing that audio, maybe we could integrate and add both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, to the Touareg - 

Just like any other integration products we do, It's involved complete retrofit type installation.
 

No such audio replacement setup like you see from brands like: Alpine / Kenwood / Pioneer etc. But uses the existing audio unit and its video / audio outputs to work with our integration modules, ultimately displaying Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the screen.

And of course, nothing will be changed nor removed from the vehicle.

The beauty of the integration is that it does not require any sort of modification nor results feature / function loss.

With Touareg, after the installation is done, simply pressing NAV button located below the screen, will turn Apple CarPlay / Android Auto platform on, and connect your phone and get it going.

Whilst pressing NAV one more time, will go back to Factory Navigation screen, and any other buttons will direct you to designated window.

Furthermore, It will use car's sound system to play any song / voice, with utilizing either bluetooth Audio pairing between audio and phone, or uses AMI / AUX link to play sound straight away from the audio unit.
